Getting the party started with Wet Leg’s new single ‘Angelica’

Wet Leg are due to release their debut album next month. So far, we’ve been teased with the release of four catchy and upbeat singles including Chaise Longue and Wet Dream. Their new track Angelica is sensational. It gives us a good idea of what we can expect for their forthcoming album.

Rhian Teasdale named the song after her oldest friend and although it is has a synth filled catchy pop rhythm, it also uses heavy grinding guitar which creates an uneasiness to the song. Teasdale described the song as ‘laced with disenchantment. Even though the chorus is ‘good times all the time’. That’s just impossible isn’t it‘.

I fell in love with the unusual lyrics straight away. Two of the verses begin with:

Angelica, she bought lasagna to the party‘ and ‘Angelica, she bought her ray-gun to the party‘.

Wet Leg always fascinate me with their music videos. This one is filled with wild dancing, play fighting and hugging and I imagine was very fun to film. If you’re keen to grab tickets to see Wet Leg, then check out their list of tour dates. I’ll be booking mine!
